The main purpose of using a download manager apart from increased download speed is the ability to resume downloads at any time you like. When using a download manager, you can shut down your system and resume the download any time you feel like. It is best to use a  download manager when the internet connection is not stable so you will not need to restart your download in case of failed downloads especially when downloading large files.
Of recent i was trying to download an update for my iphone via itunes but the connection was always going of so i had to use Internet download manager to download the update saving my self time and data that would have been wasted.


To Use Internet download manager to download from itunes, follow the procedures below

• Open Internet download manager
• Go to Options >> General 
• Check the option USE ADVANCED BROWSER INTEGRATION as in screen shot below

•  Click the add browser button >> navigate to the program files directory where itunes is usually installed and pick itunes.exe to capture downloads from itunes store
  
•  Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Apple Software Update and pick apple software update to enable IDM capture download when downloading software updates.
• In the files type tab, simply add "IPA"

  

  IPA is the itunes file extension

• Go to itunes store, find your desired app and download..

Internet download manager will now capture the download and all you have to do is to click start download.
